The NIR-9 rotary paddle level switch is suitable for a wide variety of applications for bulk media and solids in silos, hoppers, and bins.
Media level is reliably monitored, regardless of humidity, conductivity, and any presence of dust created by the movement of the media being monitored.
Different paddle types and process connections are available to provide the optimum solution for the exact media type and storage vessel size.
The NIR operates via a mechanical principle where a motor turns the paddle. When the media reaches the moving paddle, its rotation is stopped.
A micro-switch is then actuated, which triggers an alarm signal. A second micro-switch turns the motor off.
Once the level of the media decreases, the rotary paddle is released to once again move freely, the motor restarts, and the working contact is switched back.
To allow for differing media characteristics, the switching sensitivity can be easily adjusted by changing the spring position.
The operational design provides a more reliable and longer service life as the inherent principles offer increased protection from motor burnout.
The NIR-9 is an ideal replacement for other rotary paddle switches that quickly fail and require frequent replacement.
